Bruce's Profile
Someone will run for president in the 20's on the platform of requiring all government communication to be open, unless special permissions are obtained. Normally, these would be granted only for matters of national security. 2020? 2024? 2028?
Bruce is an expert in transformational transportation technology (T3) and computer based systems for collaboration. He studied innovation in transportation technologies with members of the transport-innovators Internet discussion group, entrepreneurs in T3’s electrified guideway segment, and from Dr. Jerry Schneider and his web site.
Bruce is a leading proponent of making cars that are able to physically hitch to form hybrid-electric roadtrains. They will be composed principally of electric cars, an important step leading to powering land vehicles directly from the electric grid. Electrification is an overarching goal widely acknowledged by engineering professionals who have studied energy security, pollution control, and the energy losses of the various ways to power land vehicles both now and in the future.
After graduating MIT with a BS in computer science in 1983, Bruce worked for the designer of the Internet’s packet oriented architecture, Paul Baran, at Packet Technologies. Bruce then developed multimedia command and control systems at SRI International for the Navy before returning to an independent path designing audio-visual training systems for civilian applications. He created teams and coded implementations that included the first virtually shared whiteboard for PC’s with recorded sketch and talk, and the first trade show demonstration of audio annotation on the Mac.
During the early 90’s, he earned two MS degrees from MIT in the Management of Technology and in Media Arts and Sciences. During the late 90’s, he became fluent in current affairs and was strongly influenced by the liberal perspectives of Christopher Lydon on WBUR’s The Connection. This served to shape his political goals in-line with a second career objective of performing public service encouraged by his late stepfather, Lord Chelwood.
Bruce cooks and is highly aware of nutrition and fitness. He engages with multiple social networks and organizations including H+, a transhumanist group using technology to extend and transform human life. He has enjoyed many physical activities like skiing, tennis, sailing windsurfing, and most recently hip-hop, yoga and swimming at Sports Club LA / Sepulveda. He will do some real lifting.
