Chris's Profile
Ever since I lived in a small campground in TX, and had a neighbor that had their dog tied up all day, I have been on this campaign. This dog, on a 5' chain, was a very happy, friendly dog. But since he could not run and play, he was "hyper" to say the least. I would sneak over as soon as the owners left for work, and untie him and play with him. In just a matter of days, he was calm! The neighbors even said "hmm..he must be getting used to the chain..hes calmer" I admitted to what I was doing, and they were actually pleased. They thought they were doing a good thing by chaining him, to "keep him safe"
Dogs are pack animals. And we as humans are part of their pack. If they are "banned" from interacting with their pack, they tend to go crazy..and in worse case scenarios, get mean.
So, I have started this campaign, in my county, to bring awareness to this plight to these poor dogs. And to teach people the mistreatment it is, and educate those about training their dogs, getting a proper running area with fence, so they no longer have to chain them.
