About
L-word actor Leisha Hailey was kicked off a Southwest flight for giving her girlfriend a kiss. A flight attendent approached the couple claiming that Southwest was "a family" airline and does not allow such ‘acts’. They were then kicked off the flight and not allowed back on.
Though Southwest claims to be a huge supporter of the LGBT community, it has yet to apologize for the discrimination committed against Leisha and her girlfriend.
It is unacceptable to bar a couple from flying on your airline because of an innocent display of affection. A simple kiss is by no means grounds for kicking a paying customer off a flight, no matter whether that couple is gay or straight.
In light of Southwest's declared tolerance policy, it seems that its actions do not meet its obligations. Southwest should know better than to allow its employees to take actions like the one taken against Leisha and her girlfriend. Families come in many different forms, and ALL of them deserve respect.
Upon reaching the goal, our billboard will go up near the airport and will be viewed by millions. The goal of our billboard is to inform people of Southwest's wrong-doing thereby encouraging potential travelers to question Southwest and its policies.
Please help us in making this billboard a reality. No pledge is too small and every dollar counts.
