About
Have you ever researched exactly what your child is being fed in school?
Most of us haven't. Somehow we trust the public school system to always hold our children's best interests in mind. However, this is not always the case. Take the L.A.U.S.D for example.
The LAUSD serves 650,000 meals every day. Meals contain extremely high levels of sugar, fat and sodium. Processed foods have become the norm in school lunches and kids are no longer taught to practice the good habits that lead to a healthier life.
The public education giant has been practically force feeding our kids poison ever since its inception. LAUSD's understanding of proper nutrition is weak at best and must be improved. We as parents have an obligation to fight for the constant well being of our children.
'Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution' was a project started with the goal to revolutionize the way our social infrastructure views food consumption. His campaign inspired me to spread the word even further - a gigantic billboard seen by thousands of people a day.
I support this cause wholeheartedly and want to express my sincere gratitude to organizations such as Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, USC’s Childhood Obesity Research Center, Food for Lunch, the Garden School Foundation, Kidding Around the Kitchen, and RootDownLA. They have all played monumental roles in the fight for better food in our schools.
If we get this billboard up, it will educate/encourage other parents and members of the community to speak out. L.A.U.S.D. MUST DO BETTER!
